Description
Formerly known as Cbreeze, The Frenchman was born after a tough stretch - power outages, water cuts, and the ripple effects of a global pandemic. But instead of closing the doors, one man picked up a paintbrush, a spanner, and a vision. Over four months, he rebuilt it himself. Seven days a week, twelve hours a day. A full revamp - no hired help. And when the new space came to life, it needed a name. Since everyone already called him The Frenchman… the rest was obvious.
He’s in the kitchen, at the door, behind the bar, and under the sink when needed. Hosting, cooking, cleaning, plumbing, planning, and prepping. Open to close, every single day. And he wouldn’t have it any other way.
🍝 Pasta Wednesdays — R119 for 3 pasta choices, 3 sauces, and a glass of house wine
🦐 Seafood Specialties — He’s held a top TripAdvisor seafood ranking in KZN for nearly 10 years
🦆 Duck confit — cooked with care, depth, and plenty of local love
🥩 Flexible menu - ask ahead, and he’ll prep something custom just for you
👨👧👦 Family-run with a mission - every meal helps fund his children’s dreams of becoming professional surfers (his daughter placed 3rd in the world last year!)
🎉 Fundraiser evenings - occasionally hosted to support their travel and training costs
This isn’t just a restaurant - it’s his only source of income and a labour of deep love and purpose.
